Donald D. Wilson, 83, passed away on February 28, 2017 at Cottage in The Meadow.
He was born in Yakima, WA on January 19, 1934 to Roy and Edna (Stone) Wilson. The family moved to Richland, then back to Yakima. Don entered the army in 1958; shortly after going to work for Pacific NW Bell and retired in 2000.
Don enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing and tilling his garden.
Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce; daughters, Deb Wilson, Sheila (Lindsey) Wilbanks, Sheryl (Bob) Case and Dawna (Ron) Cater; grandchildren, Sean (Nikki) Wilbanks, Kevin (Stephani) Wilbanks, Brad, Brittany and Brandon Cater; great grandsons, Tristan, Tatum and Jaxon Wilbanks. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Nathaniel and Melvin and sister Florence Coble.
The family is grateful to Memorial Hospice, especially Jan & Yvette, for their care and compassion, and also the wonderful staff at Cottage in The Meadow. You will be missed greatly, but you are free of pain and suffering.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at The Assembly of God Church, 4101 Maple Ave., in Terrace Heights at 1:00 p.m. Please being memories and stories. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Don’s name to Cottage in The Meadow. Arrangements are by Rainier Memorial Center of Yakima.
