Everett M Walker passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, on May 22, 2017 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
Everett was born October 21, 1943 in Providence, Rhode Island to Ralph and Ethel Walker. He and his older brother, Curtis, spent their childhood making mischief in Rhode Island until they moved all the way to the west coast. Settling in Salem, OR, Everett’s first job was as a stock boy at a local grocery store; he would later work for such grocery juggernauts as Del Monte, Nabisco, and Darigold. He graduated from South Salem High School in 1961.
Everett’s first car was a 1951 Chevrolet, beginning a lifelong passion. He joined the Vintiques Club in 1981, and eventually the Chevelles and El Caminos Forever Car Club, and was an enthusiastically active member of both to his last day. He loved his cars (both miniature and full-sized), his family, his friends, and his perfectly maintained lawn.
He cherished his 1930 Ford Model-A, his 1970 Chevy El Camino SS, and his 1971 Chevy Chevelle, spending his free time taking them to rod runs and working on them in his shop.
Please join family and friends for a celebration of life at Cascade Gardens at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017. Rainier Memorial Center is entrusted with arrangements.
