Our dear mother, Jean Leigh Bautch, passed away peacefully at her home on March 14th, 2018. She was 73.
Jean was born March 19th, 1944 in Yakima. She spent many of her formative years in Conway, Washington and later in Mt. Vernon, attending Mt. Vernon High School, class of 1962. Eventually, she found herself living on the family property in Sawyer, WA.
She developed an interest in trap shooting and became very skilled. The local press recognized her achievements.
For many years, she enjoyed bowling alongside her parents in leagues, and also bowled in many organized leagues.
When her twin sister, Joan, was diagnosed with a serious illness, Jean courageously donated her bone marrow. Joan eventually lost her battle, despite the transplant.
Later in life, Jean developed COPD and was put on oxygen. Her activities became more limited, but she continued to love to joke around, and always remained a fun-loving person.
She is preceded in death by her twin sister, Joan Barker, her father, Frank Barker, and her mother, June Barker-Leininger.
She is survived by her brothers Robert Barker and Richard Barker, her children Tammy (John) Hill, Don Bautch and Todd (Jacy) Bautch, her grandchildren Jordan Bautch, Jason Hill, Justin Hill, Jessica Northrup-Hill, Michael (Ashley) Koski, Christian Berg, and Dennis Berg, and her great grandchildren Ashton Berg, Steven Northrup, Riley Northrup, Christopher Lilienthal, Ryker Hill, and Mystori Hill.
Celebration of life will be scheduled for later this spring or summer.
We graciously thank Rainier Memorial Center for helping our family.
