It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald K. Boyle on September 22nd, 2018, he was born in Hot Springs, South Dakota on October 5th, 1931, to Lorenzo and Lydia Boyle.
Don joined the Army in 1949. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He received 3 Bronze Stars and numerous other medals while serving in Korea. Don was recently awarded the ambassador of freedom medal from the minister of veteran affairs from the republic of Korea.
On March 1st, 1952 Don married the love of his life Helen Scott. They were married for 66 years.
Don worked hard all his life. He logged, worked on the Alaskan pipeline, was a talented diesel mechanic always taking great pride in his work. He was in the international union of operating engineers for 50 years.
Don was an animal lover and always had Dachshunds as companions.
Don was blessed with many good friends. After he and Helen retired, they traveled extensively for many years.
Don resided at Willow Springs Nursing Home at the time of his death. The family wishes to thank all of the staff for the love and care he received.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lorenzo and Lydia, brothers Everett, Lenard (Bud), George, Glen, and son Doug.
He is survived by his wife Helen his sisters Esther and Marion, brother Willard, sisters in-law Barbara and Lilith, daughter Pam, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
