Born February 6th, 1947 in Mendenhall, MS to Mattie and AC Harris, Hertis passed away November 8th, 2018.
Hertis’ family moved to WA when he was 5 Hertis held many jobs in his day but his favorite job for 16 years was at the Department of Transportation. He retired in 2012. Hertis also loved the Fellowship of Bill W and celebrated 25 years May 9th, 2018. He was very proud of all the coins he collected over the years and was a great friend and help to many.
Hertis is survived by his children, Jeff Harris, Brenda Harris, Eric Graham and Cristine Morgan, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sisters Emma Wyatt, Bessie Gratton and Joann Francis, and a brother, Cyrus Harris. His sister in law Lucille Harris and his niece Rosie Hanson were very special to him as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends from DOT and his friends of BIll W.
A special thank you to all the staff at Parkside/Prestige Care Center who cared for and loved him the last 6 months and until his final day when he received the infinite coin. He will be missed by many.
A celebration of life and potluck will be held in the dining room at Parkside Care Center, 308 Emma St. in Union Gap, WA on November 24th from 1:30 to 3:30 to honor him and share our memories.
