On Wednesday July 17, 2019, Donald F. Pool passed away surrounded by his family at his home in Naches, WA at the age of 83.
Don was born on Aug 23, 1935 in Glasgow, MT to William and Florence Pool. As a young boy, they moved to Washington State. Don grew up in Union Gap, WA. He had a great childhood. On June 21, 1959, he married the love of his life, Charlene Pool. They were married for 60 years this June. Together they raised two sons, Doug and Scott and one daughter Stephanie.
While living in Yakima, Don worked for Boise Cascade for 35 years. He spent 25 years working on the Barker and Pond. Don had many hobbies: he liked to camp, fish, and ride motorcycles. He had a love for speedboats and woodworking. Along with rebuilding a 1940 Merc with his son Scott. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Don was preceded in death by his father William and his mother Florence. He is survived by his wife Charlene Pool of Naches, WA, his brother Bob Pool of Dessert Aire, WA; his son Doug (Barb) Pool of Moxee, WA; his fur-grandchildren Zoe, Coco, Katie; his daughter Stephanie (Russell) Rieland of Naches, WA; grandchildren Clay Rieland, Corbin Rieland and Gussie Rieland; his son Scott (Susan) Pool of Gleed, WA; grandchildren Justin (Angela) Purdy, Devan Purdy and Miranda (Jared) Wilske; great Grandchildren Coh’n Purdy, Land’n Purdy, Hannah Wilske and Raylee Purdy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 12:00pm at Rainier Memorial Center 2807 Terrace Heights Drive, Yakima, WA 98901. A celebration of life is to follow the service at 1:45pm at Scott and Susan Pool house 71 Emhoff Rd, Gleed, WA 98908.
