James L. Roy, age 82, of Terrace Heights, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at home, surrounded by family. He was born September 6, 1941, in Sunnyside, WA, to parents Henri and Marion Roy. He married the love of his life Donna Buechler on April 23, 1966.
He and Donna met on blind date and were engaged while James served in the Army. They were married and settled in Sunnyside, and later relocated to Zillah, where they raised their 3 children.
James (Jim) loved to bowl in his younger years and always enjoyed a trip to the theatre to watch the newest movies. He also loved the occasional road trip, and trips to the local casinos, as well as enjoying a game of pool or a card game with his friends at Quail Run.
James was preceded in death by 9 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna, children: Michelle (Paul) Wojtkiewicz, Arlene (Jeff) Knutson, and Dennis Roy
grandchildren: Danielle Wojtkiewicz, Brittney (Devon) Hetherington; great grandchild: Landon Hetherington.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday August 17th , at 2:00 pm at Rainier Memorial Center in Terrace Heights, WA.
