John Roy Stone passed away on February 2, 2025 with his wife of 39 years by his side after a sudden heart attack.
Born to James and Alora (Ballinger) Stone February 16th, 1963. John was born and raised in Cowiche, and chose to start and raise his own family in the Cowiche/Tieton area when he married Dawn Lynn Eslick in January 1985. John and Dawn went onto have their two children Kristain and Johne, along with adding several furry friends down the line; ranging from horses, to sheep, a cat, one stray chicken, and too many dogs to count!
John worked in agriculture, started off driving fork-lift and then became a truck driver. John worked for Rowe Farms in his younger years, then worked for several trucking companies; 3-W Trucking, then worked for J.W. Stone trucking for about 15 years. For awhile after that, he continued long haul for DC5 Trucking, along with some other trucking companies, delivering loads to Nogales and back.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Alora Stone, and his son Johne.
He is survived by his loving wife Dawn Stone, daughter Kristain (Paul) Webber, three grand-children Ashton, Savannah, and baby Johnny. Baby Johnny became more like a son to John after having the opportunity to raise him for several years. John loved all his grand-children, but baby Johnny always had a special place in John's heart.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home.
John's deep gut laugh, smart-all comments, and sometimes not always appropriate jokes will live on forever until we meet again.
